Description

This clear and comprehensive how-to training module equips teachers with practical methods that enable them to bring focus to distraction-prone classrooms.
In addition to gaining skills and knowledge that can positively transform their classrooms, teachers can earn 3.5 CEUs by completing the module–teachers: please have your professional development coordinator review the module description and contact Dr. Spring @ synergy.creative.learning@gmail.com with any questions and to confirm the module’s value for teacher training. Dr. Spring has taught with distinction since 2000, including two years as instructor of Teacher Education for teachers-in-training at N. C. State University. This 3.5-hour module includes an incisive, hour-long, up-to-the-latest review of research on restorative practices, teacher emotional labor and burnout, and instructional methods; this review deepens the context for understanding how and why to apply the Focus and Flow method.
When student behavior and school climate become tense and unpredictable, academic learning and growth become very difficult to achieve. Classroom disruption can be so intense and intractable that dedicated teachers and administrators often leave a job or even leave the field, and talented, idealistic would-be teachers steer away from careers in education when they learn of stressful classroom conditions. Life in our schools does not have to be this way. These problems do not have to persist.
In the CEU module, Dr. Spring shows teachers how to amplify their classroom presence and effectiveness every day, with better professional and health outcomes for teachers to go with the gains that students make in a much-improved classroom environment.
